On Friday, February second, Bernards High School introduced “ThinkFast”, the first interactive auto safety game show to ever come to Bernards! Since auto safety came to an end for some tenth grade students, Mr. Spautz put together a game show for students to review the things they’ve learned in his class in a fun and interactive fashion!
During the game show, there were over thirty teams playing against each other. ThinkFast didn’t just ask questions, but there were ample opportunities for students to get on stage to show their dancing and acting abilities, as well.
ThinkFast’s host, Pete, called up four students— Emery Ruggia ‘26, Jack Rutz ‘26, Arianna Nodes ‘26, and Jonas Apostolakos ‘26— to compete in a dance challenge. Students were asked to show off their best dance moves in one minute. Students had to “buzz in” to answer who they thought the best dancer was, and the majority picked Jonas Apostolakos, who won a twenty five dollar amazon gift card!
Next up was the acting challenge! Fauzeh Daniel ‘26 and Nolan Baker ‘26 turned on their best acting skills to convince Pete not to get in the car because he was playing a dangerous driver. Since Nolan Baker was the most convincing to get Pete not to get in the car, Nolan won an Amazon gift card! This scene taught students that if they are in a similar scenario, they should do the right thing and speak up, like Nolan Baker did. Nolan also won a twenty five dollar gift card.
To take a break from some of the auto safety questions, Pete played a series of music videos for all the music fans out there! This challenge gave 30 second clips of a music video, and players had only a few seconds to answer. These music videos showed tik tok hits, throwbacks, and hit classics!
Julie Lund’ 26 states, “This game show was so fun! Not only did I have such a good time, it tested my abilities on road safety and so much more about driving! ThinkFast was a great way for students to learn anything they may have forgotten.
Maddie Halliez ’26 states, “ThinkFast was so fun and entertaining! Thanks to Mr. Spautz auto safety class, I pretty much knew all the answers.” Maddie not only thinks this, Sophia Fazel ’26 also states, “ ThinkFast was a great way to end auto safety! It helped me remember stuff I have forgotten. Also, Host Pete was such a fun and amazing host.”
At the end of the event, the top four teams had to each pick one player from each team to go up on stage and compete to take first place. Pete fired questions at them and the first one to answer got ten points. Nolan Baker ‘26 was the first to 50 points, and won the entire game. Nolan Baker won $100 mazon gift cards for his whole team! Congrats to Nolan and the whole team!
