Seniors featured in Rumors leave their legacies on the stage
The program will surely miss the seniors who participated in this year’s production. The play, a drama-filled story that kept the audience entertained throughout the multiple showings, has definitely left an impact on the theater program as a whole. Even though it had already been performed, the seniors who participated will be remembered for their talent. Congratulations to the whole cast on another successful performance!
Arden Addeo has been part of the Performing Arts program since freshman year. She has played roles such as Diane in last year’s production of, Lend me a Tenor by Ken Ludwig. For this year’s fall drama, Arden will be playing Claire Ganz. She says that she has enjoyed learning the role of Claire and that she is “a huge instigator and super dramatic” in this year’s play. Arden is not only involved in the school’s theater program; she also is an alumni of Rutgers Summer Acting Conservatory and Stella Adler Acting Academy in New York City. Arden also states that she “plans on majoring in Drama/Theater in college.” Though she is unsure of where she would like to go for her next few years, she makes it very clear that theater will be a focus for her future. While BHS as a whole will miss her presence in our plays and dramas, we know that she has bright things ahead, and lots of success in her future. We would like to wish Arden a huge good luck with all of her upcoming endeavors!
Aidan Kinsey is the stage manager for this year’s production of the play. Aidan has been participating in the theater program since his freshman year at BHS. His job this year, as he puts it, is to “coordinate when we put microphones on the cast members, when we put them in costumes when we do makeup on them when we do any sound effect cues that were playing and any sort of lighting or spotlighting that we’re doing on the stage.”
Throughout his years at the high school, the theater program has helped Aidan grow more comfortable with working with people and flourishing in an environment that would otherwise be stifling toward someone’s creativity and confidence.
Furthermore, he says that the program has introduced him to a great group of people, stating “I think there is a very tight-knit group of students who I’m proud and I’m pleased to say are always returning.”
As a participant in this year’s theater program, Aidan has found his schedule overflowing with the various commitments that the program brings. He has even gone as far as to design the set, along with four other people, which was a two-story structure that had to be strong enough to hold the weight of a full cast. While he doesn’t plan on pursuing a career in theater, he does believe that it has helped him gain important life skills. Aidan says “The amount of technical know-how and skill I’ve gained from working on these shows… I’ve definitely learned a lot.” As the play grows closer, we wish Aidan good luck!
Anna Topping will be playing Cassie Cooper in Rumors. She says that Cassie Cooper is “crazy fun” and “loves to add drama into every situation.” Anna has been a big part of the yearly spring musical. Anna was drawn to this year’s play because of her love for theater as well as her want to show off her skills. This will be her first fall play at BHS.
though this is . Anna says that this year’s play is, “filled with the best directors, cast, and crew I could ever ask for” and that the show is, “the best show I have been a part of at BHS.” Anna is loving her first play and is very excited to take part in many more. She can’t wait to see where her acting skills can take her in the future. Anna plans on continuing her theater career beyond high school and possibly even past college. We can’t wait to see what is to come for Anna, as we know there will be lots of bright things and lots more acting. Best of luck, Anna!
After participating in the play for the past three years, Abby is now returning for her fourth and final year as student director. This year, Abby’s role in this year’s showing is, in her words, “[to help out with] the book, basically. [She] takes a lot of notes for the director.” While Abby has not been able to make too many rehearsals this year, she is still excited to see the show on opening night.
Abby’s dedication to acting and theater in general should be taken note of, as she said “I’ve been doing the theater because theaters like, my life and stuff.” Abby has been acting since she was young.
While Abby will not be found on the BHS stage this year, she can be seen on various projects, typically those in New York. Abby says “I was just part of this new musical that’s developing in New York City.”
. Another notable accomplishment by Abby is the many different commercials that she has been seen in, one being an Apple commercial. As Abby continues her career, we wish her the best of luck on both opening night and the rest of her acting jobs!
