Buying Christmas items this year

With Christmas around the corner, wishlists are being made. There are many popular gift items to add to your wishlist or to your shopping list for a loved one. A good gift could be useful and personal, water bottles and tumblers are a good gift that fits this description. Popular brands include Hydro Flask, Owala, and Stanley.  Shoes are a great item that can be unique to each person depending on their fashion taste. As sophomore Krisztina Lekai states “A popular Christmas item this year is Uggs, and any Adidas shoes. Uggs are a great choice this season, with favored styles such as Tasman’s in men and women and Ugg ultra minis. Adidas sambas have been a big hit this year with many different colorways and ways to style them. An appreciable gift for music lovers, such as Charlie Quinn ‘27 who “ wants anything music related [..] a record player or headphones for Christmas”.

The British company “Jellycats” is a favored item with many plush toys representing what someone loves, such as their favorite animal, food, or item. This brand doesn’t sell just any stuffed animals as they are good quality and as “Jelly Cat” the brand itself states “Our mission is to put a smile on your face”. For the active and athletic person in your life,  some athletic wear or a sports jersey of the team they support for a sports enthusiast. A gift for a sport, art form, or hobby can be used to express interest in their interests. You can never go wrong with food, buying a loved one’s favorite sweet treat or a comfort food. If they love to cook or bake items and rare ingredients can be a special gift. Cameron Bong ‘27 wants a “North Face Jacket” and Krisztine Lekai  ‘27 wants “clothes from the mall”. The type of clothing you buy for a person can be differentiated based on their style. Although not all gifts have to be bought, a homemade gift can be just as heartfelt. Baking, cooking, or making a nice Christmas card can be a way to show appreciation for this Christmas season.
