Nominees for the monthly Everyday Hero Program are students who have a positive influence on the student body through exemplary qualities. Selected students inspire others, are responsible and respectable and have a commitment to peers and the school community. Students are nominated by one or more teachers, selected by the Everyday Hero committee, and announced school-wide by either Principal Scott Neigel or Assistant Principal Mike Corbett.
The January Everyday Hero is a wonderful individual who always follows through on what she promises: to care about her community and to give back. As BHS President of the Green Team, Claire has started so many initiatives to make the Bernards High School community greener. Because of her, the high school has recycled over 600 pounds of plastics! Claire also has a keen interest in highlighting members of her community, starting a new section of the school newspaper, Bernardsville Beginnings, to support the small businesses in town. Her dedication to the BHS online newspaper has helped the program to become one of the top sites in the country and her efforts are contagious to younger writers!
Claire, as well as her peers who will be recognized monthly during the 2024-2025 school year, will receive a generous gift certificate from Nicoletta Pizzeria, the sponsor of the Everyday Hero Program.
