On the weekend of March 6th, BHS students put on a wonderful production of Seussical, a musical following Dr Seuss’ imaginary elephant Horton, the Cat in the Hat, and their struggles to help the people of Whoville. Seniors stole the show, with Conor McShane, Alex Re, Stephen Walley, and Maggie Fischer taking on large roles. Freshman Jack Broderick also put on a great BHS Theatre debut. The singing, choreographs, and even tap dancing was phenomenal. The energy from the actors in the play was outstanding, by far the best Spring music in the last few years. Junior Nicole Sullivan said, “I thought the play had awesome performances by all of the actors. They all were incredible. I can tell that everyone in the audience had a great time.”
After hours upon hours of rehearsal the final product was a great success. The PAC was filled for every performance, attracting everyone from elementary students to town locals.
Being a part of the BHS musical this year was not as easy as the past, for mother nature tried her very best to hinder the students involved, with a snowstorm hitting a day before the opening night. Junior Alec Steinhorn said, “being part of Seussical was a really incredible experience, because each member of the cast worked so hard and wanted it so bad; even though we lost over 30 hours of rehearsal time due to weather, we pulled together a show that everyone involved was proud of.”
