For many, the only motivation to get through the first few weeks of school is the fact that their favorite fall shows are returning soon. Millions of people across the country are anxiously awaiting Shonda Rhimes’s renowned “TGIT” lineup of America’s most beloved shows. ABC’s oldest Shondaland series, “Grey’s Anatomy,” returns to television on Thursday, September 24 at 8PM.
“Grey’s Anatomy” returns for its twelfth season, even though most viewers aren’t over the death of medical sensation, Derek Shepherd. Americans are not ready to let go of McDreamy, but Ellen Pompeo (Meredith Grey) tweeted, “… in the spirit of resilience, I am honored and excited to tell the story of how Meredith goes on in the face of what seems impossible.”An insider said, “The sun is rising again with her character,” presuming that Meredith is happy with her life at this moment. Shonda Rhimes also said, “I think Meredith is in a rebirth and she’s evolving.” While viewers will be invested in Meredith’s rejuvenation, fan’s questions will also be answered about whether or not Bailey will be named Chief of Surgery, as the decision comes soon into the season. “Grey’s Anatomy” will also bring back lighthearted bar scenes as well as very dramatic and serious medical situations, as it also explores the wavering relationship of Amelia Shepherd and Owen Hunt. Many questions will be answered regarding the Kepner- Avery love story, in addition to Karev and Wilson’s relationship that took a huge step in the last finale.
The stars of Grey’s Anatomy are just as excited as fans. Justin Chambers (Alex Karev) tweeted, “TGIT!!! 🙂 @GreysABC” to show his enthusiasm, in addition to Jessica Capshaw (Arizona Robbins) who tweeted, “Sitting on set with soooo many of my @GreysABC family…it’s a hoot and a holler at every turn.” Debbie Allen (Catherine Avery) added, “This season is spectacular!!!! #season12.” “Grey’s Anatomy” will embark on an unforgettable journey through season 12, and the stars of this hit drama will be along for the ride as they tweet live during the premiere. Tune in on the 24th to watch the stories of a beloved medical team unfold inside Grey-Sloan Memorial Hospital in Seattle, WA.
