Q: What is your name?
A: Madison Mariani
Q: What is the activity (community service) that you spend the most time on?
A: Fall Drama/Spring Musical
Q: What extracurricular activities do you participate in?
A: American Red Cross, Spirit Club, and Peer Leadership
Q: What have you done for the community?
A: In terms of community service, I find it is the most rewarding for me when I work with kids (Probably because I’m a true kid at heart, myself). Over the summer I worked at a summer camp with children and throughout the year, I’ve participated in Saturday’s in Motion – A program held at the YMCA for autistic children.
Q: What is one thing you wish you knew as a freshman?
A: As stale as it sounds, I really do wish I had gotten more involved in my freshman, and even my sophomore year. There are so many different clubs and things that are offered, I wish I had taken the time to try out some and find new things that I like. It’s a way to be exposed to different things – which would have be helpful when deciding what I want to pursue later in life (Because quite honestly, I haven’t really got a clue at the moment).
Q: What colleges are you looking at or considering?
A: I’m mostly looking at colleges centered around cities such as Washington DC, Boston, and New York City.
Q: What was the highlight of your high school career, and why?
A: Surviving Junior Year. Need there be an explanation?
Q: Describe yourself in 3 words.
A: Optimistic, Scatter-brained, goofy
Q: If you could have one Superhero power, what would it be and why?
A: To be able to stop or slow down time. I could elongate and better appreciate the good times in my life, get all my homework done, and still watch every single season of every single show on netflix.
Q: What is in your ideal fridge?
A: String cheese, watermelon, and Panera Bread’s Mac and Cheese… And it doesn’t really feel right to leave out chips (preferably the Ruffles Cheddar Sour Cream and Onion), even though they’re more of a pantry food.
Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
A: I have absolutely no idea. Ideally, I’m just happy and living life to the fullest.
Q: If you could have dinner with anyone, who would it be, and why?
A: This feels like I’m doing a college supplement. Probably someone like Arianna Huffington or Nina Garcia. Not only am I simply interested in Journalism and would like to hear what the whole business is like, but Huffington and Garcia are such empowering women. I would love to talk about them about their own mentality and what they were thinking as they worked their way up to the top.
Q: If you had the chance to do-over a mistake you made in high school, what would it be?
A: I wouldn’t fall flat on my face on stage during the bows of All in the Timing. I would take back all the awkward half smiles and waves I give in the hallway and replace them with a huge grin. Go big or go home.
Q: What is something people don’t generally know about you?
A: I’m a TV-show cryer but not a Movie cryer
Q: If you could have 3 wishes, what would they be?
A:
1. To have a meaningful impact on the people who mean the most to me
2. To never think a negative thought
3. To have Serena Vanderwoodsen’s closet
Q: What is your biggest pet peeve? Why?
A: I don’t really feel like I a have a pet peeve worth mentioning – I’m difficult to irritate.
Q: If there would be a movie made about you, who would you cast as yourself?
A: Zooey Deschanel, Jennifer lawrence, Kristen Bell, or Alyson Hannigan (Sorry, I suffer chronic indecision)
Q: What have you enjoyed most about high school? Why?
A: Really, I’ve just enjoyed making the most of all the little things, participating in activities that I love to do, and spending time with my buds. So, shoutout to all my absolutely amazing friends. I couldn’t make it through without them.
