Good afternoon Judges. I would like to begin by addressing just how devastating Covid-19 and the global pandemic is. Approximately 1.34 million people have died from this horrifying virus and this number does not account for the people who are still suffering and struggling to survive. Today, my team and I will make it clear to you that centralized national responses to pandemics are more beneficial than decentralized responses. Our first contention describes how centralized leadership provides certain medical benefits during a public health crisis. Our second contention relates to the quick mobilization of resources. Finally, our last contention is the fact that there is no competition upon local government. By the end of this discussion, we will have made it clear to all of you observing today that centralized government is crucial in this depressing and chaotic time. Thank you. 

The centralized team also argued with three solid points:

1. Centralized leadership provides certain medical benefits during a public health crisis
   1. U.S. states, for example, have been forced to compete for personal protective equipment, which has generated inefficiencies and a bidding war. And some places have begun to reopen businesses against the advice of experts. If this move causes a spike in transmission, it could spill over into other states that have taken more risk-averse stances.
2. Quick Mobilization of Resources
   1. Florien Kruse, a PhD candidate at Radboud University Medical Center in the Netherlands, who has researched different kinds of European healthcare systems, told MDLinx that the answer might lie in a system with a “centralized core” that keeps care and resource coordination functioning amid a web of decentralized hospitals.  
3. No competition upon local  government 
   1. Instead of competing for resources each government can get the right amount for the country. 
   2. Companies aren’t competing to make a profit, and then will have the ability to make the resources affordable for everyone
