Prince Harry and Meghan Markle captivated the whole world following the airing of their interview with Oprah Winfrey on CBS. The couple revealed many long kept secrets and addressed rumors surrounding the Royal Family, confirming that they are no longer considered a part of the family. Harry and Meghan’s son, Archie, was refused the title of Prince, therefore denied access to special protection that would have come with this title. The world was shocked to hear that there had been comments and concerns made from the Royal Family surrounding Archie’s race, however Harry declined to inform the public as to who specifically made these statements. 

Many are left wondering what the future is going to look like, not only for the Royal Family, but Harry and Meghan especially. “My family literally cut me off financially,” Harry tells Oprah. Leaving him to his own devices to support his growing family. Since leaving the Royal Family, he has been working on deals with Netflix and Spotify to remain stable and gain more general security that is no longer provided by the Royal Family nor ensured by their status. Anonymous reports have stated, however, that Harry was not cut off, and his family is ‘let down’ by such a claim. 

According to Time Magazine, mixed-race couples in the Royal Family have often been dismissed and ignored in the past. Acknowledging the fact that Meghan Markle has a white father and black mother is something very unfamiliar in the Royals, due to the fact that she is the first mixed-race woman to be recognized as Duchess of Sussex. 

As for what the coming months are going to look like for Harry and Meghan, nobody can say for certain. Sources hint expecting more media from the two since their move to Los Angeles, and upon the airing of their interview, many entertainment managers have been in heavy pursuit of Meghan and Harry.
