Following Thanksgiving Day, College Football gives fans across the country rivalry weekend.
With historical matchups with much at stake, this year’s games feature playoff and bowl altering matchups that could determine the rest of how this college football season plays out.
Ole Miss at Mississippi State
Starting on Thanksgiving night, Ole Miss battles Mississippi State in the Egg Bowl. Coming off of a huge win over Tennessee State, Mississippi State looks to continue their two-game win streak against their state-rival. #12 Ole Miss comes in off of a slug-ish win over conference opponent Vanderbilt. Ole Miss QB Matt Corral will look to get the offense back on track against a tough Mississippi State defense.
Prediction: Ole Miss 28 Mississippi State 24
Oklahoma at Oklahoma State
Coming in on a 5-game win streak, #9 Oklahoma State looks to keep their playoff hopes alive against conference rival #13 Oklahoma. Oklahoma QB CJ Williams looks to keep the Sooners offense rolling, as Oklahoma State QB Spencer Sanders looks to continue to make strides in his junior season. Winner of this matchup will face Baylor in the Big 12 Championship Game.
Prediction: Oklahoma State 41 Oklahoma 31
Ohio State at Michigan
As the Buckeyes currently sits on an 8-game winning streak vs the Wolverines, Michigan once again feels that this is the year they beat their biggest rival. Ohio State’s offense has been hitting on all cylinders with freshman QB C.J. Stroud at the helm. His outstanding receiving trio of Garrett Wilson, Chris Olave, and Jaxon Smith-Njigba could be a nightmare matchup for Michigan’s secondary. If Michigan wants to keep this one close, they’re going to have to control the ground game against a weak Ohio State front-seven. Winner punches their ticket to the Big 10 Championship Game.
Prediction: Ohio State 38 Michigan 28
Alabama at Auburn
The biggest rivalry on Saturday and it isn’t even close. The Iron Bowl gives us the #3 Alabama vs a beaten up (but gritty) Auburn. With QB Bo Nix suffering an ankle injury that has sidelined him for the remainder of the season, Auburn has turned to Sophomore TJ Finley to carry the Tigers’ offense. The Tide is led by Heisman Trophy front-runner Bryce Young, who looks to continue to shine on College Football’s biggest stage. Young’s star receiving duo of John Metchie and Jameson Williams looks to be a nightmare for this Auburn secondary.
Prediction: Alabama 27 Auburn 14
