Q: What made you join journalism?
A: My dad used to be a journalist and that had a big influence on me. My brother also took the class his freshman year and liked it so I figured I would give it a shot.
Q: What’s your favorite thing about journalism?
A: The storytelling aspect of it and being able to spotlight something that might not get much attention.
Q: What has been your favorite article you have written?
A: My article on the rise of antisemitism in October-November 2022.
Q: What are your plans for after high school?
A: I am going to Syracuse University and studying Broadcast and Digital Journalism at the Newhouse School.
Q: How has journalism helped you as a student?
A: It has helped me understand that there are always multiple sides to every story.
Q: What advice would you give first year journalism students?
A: Don’t stick to writing about one section, try different topics, you might like it.
Q: How did you become an editor in chief? What are the tasks and responsibilities to have this position?
A: I took journalism all four years and worked my way up the ranks. Tasks include looking over writing and layout and being the final eyes before sending to print.
Q: What made you want to take on this role?
A: I want to go into a career in journalism and it is a good experience for that.
