The end of the school year is a fun and exciting time for Seniors especially when Decision Day rolls around. May 1st which is known as National Decision Day is the day when high school seniors make their final college decisions and commit to a university for the following school year. In honor of Decision Day for the Class of 2023, the Bernards Student Council hosted a “Senior Spirit Week” from April 24th to April 28th.
The week started off with Pajama Day on Monday. Many students wore their BHS Class of 2023 pajama pants while other students went with an “Adi Raj inspired look” that consisted of a blue flannel and red pajama pants, which Senior Adi Raj wears consistently.
Tuesday was beach day where seniors wore Hawaiian shirts, bucket hats and luaus. Wednesday was Wigs and Wacky Hair day where seniors pulled out their craziest wigs and wildest hairstyles. Thursday was Throwback day where Seniors would dress as an older photo of themselves.
Last but not least, Friday was Decision Day where the whole senior class wore a shirt that represented what college they will be attending. Although National Decision Day was the following week it gave students who would have missed school for their AP exams to be able to represent their 2027 merch.
Senior Lexi Shafer says “My favorite day was pajama day because we got to be comfy all day.”
Another Senior Hope Kaczynski says “My favorite day of spirit week has to be decision day. It was extra special because me and my friends got up early to get bagels and starbucks and we took photos in the senior parking lot to celebrate our college decisions!”
Now that Seniors have made their college decisions, they are ready to have a fun and eventful rest of their high school career here at BHS.
